Creating a Comfortable Space Sofa Moisture Control

Rooms with poor ventilation tend to become humid, and mold and dust mites cannot be ignored. Especially in hot, humid, and airtight housing conditions such as those in Japan, it is also a cause of allergies. Therefore, we would like to introduce a few placement techniques and care methods to protect your precious furniture.

deployment

Furniture cannot be moved easily, so it is important to create air pathways for it on a regular basis. The easiest way to do this is to lay out furniture away from walls. When placing a sofa against a wall, be sure to keep it 5 to 10 cm away from the wall. This creates a flow of air around the sofa, which prevents moisture from accumulating.

Fabric Care

Fabric (upholstered) sofas absorb moisture from human sweat and spills as they are. The fabric fibers themselves also have fine crevices, which increase the likelihood of dust getting in and causing mold and dust mites. Keep it clean with a vacuum cleaner or adhesive cleaner on a regular basis. All TORRES sofa fabrics can be dry cleaned.

Leather Care

In humid conditions, leather upholstered sofas are more susceptible to mold than fabrics. As part of the normal care routine, wipe the sofa with a dry cloth. Use a soft brush for leather or a vacuum cleaner to remove dirt, especially from seams and joints.
